A new Swiss payment provider for businesses: checksum becomes Aduno Pay – Partners Group veteran Felix Haldner on board.

With the market entry of Aduno Pay, Swiss merchants and SMEs gain a new, independent payment solution. For the first time since Worldline acquired SIX Payment Services, a fully integrated Swiss payment provider with its own Visa and Mastercard processing is entering the market. The company combines state-of-the-art digital payment technology with personal customer service on the ground. Its investors include Partners Group veteran Felix Haldner. Joining as Chairman of the Board is former Migros CFO Jörg Zulauf.

Cashless payments confront Swiss businesses with numerous challenges: opaque fee structures, inflexible contracts and anonymous support hotlines often shape everyday life. Aduno Pay addresses exactly this and offers an uncompromisingly simple, transparent and personal alternative.

Payments from Switzerland, for Switzerland

With the arrival of international providers, quality, service and prices in Swiss payments have steadily deteriorated in recent years. In response to this development, three proven experts in the Swiss payments industry founded checksum AG in 2023.

Marco Casagrande, founding partner, explains: “We wanted to build a payment infrastructure from the ground up, one aligned consistently with the needs of Swiss businesses. With the name Aduno Pay we deliberately draw on the values Aduno stood for in Swiss payments: personal closeness to customers, local service, simplicity and the capacity to innovate.”

Strong partners and added leadership for the expansion

Behind Aduno Pay are the founders Marco Casagrande, Mario Manhart and Adrian Elmiger. They bring decades of experience in Swiss payments and spent many years in senior roles at SIX Payment Services and Worldline.

The circle of investors in Aduno Pay also includes Partners Group veteran Felix Haldner, which underlines the confidence in the solution. Haldner says: “What excites me is that Aduno Pay brings a Swiss quality solution to market. It is technologically state of the art and helps the SMEs connected to it integrate payments into their own systems.”

With Jörg Zulauf, Aduno Pay gains a proven finance and strategy expert as its new Chairman of the Board. The long-serving CFO and Vice-President of the Executive Board of Migros brings sound corporate governance experience and a strong network to position the new Swiss SME payment provider strategically in the market.

Aduno Pay has already won its first partner banks, which offer their customers their own acquiring services via the Aduno Pay platform. This strengthens the vision of a locally anchored customer relationship in payments and lays the basis for future banking partnerships.

The core advantages of Aduno Pay at a glance

  • 100% Swiss DNA: Developed by industry experts, with local customer care and a consistent focus on the needs of Swiss businesses.
  • Ready in 10 minutes: Set up smartphone payments in a few minutes. Terminal orders are delivered within 2 working days – unpack, set up and get going right away.
  • Absolute transparency: No hidden fees or confusing statements. Full cost control and clear prices for every area of use.
We founded Aduno Pay because cashless payments have become far too complicated for Swiss merchants. We combine state-of-the-art mobile phone and terminal technology with old-school service: with us there is personal support and people who solve concerns pragmatically. We do not want to be a distant financial group, but the reliable partner on equal terms for Swiss trade and industry.
